Paul Alan Fahey on Mistaken Identity
Mistaken Identity by Paul Alan Fahey is now available in e-book format!
Most of us growing up in the late 1940's and 1950's watched the great post war black and white thrillers of that era on television. Many come to mind: The Third Man, D.O.A, Scarlet Street, The Stranger, Detour, and perhaps one of the best examples being Otto Preminger's superb film noir classic, Laura. Television also offered dark and exciting weekly episodes of Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Perry Mason. The Lineup, and Mickey Spillane's' Mike Hammer.
During this period, Hollywood also probed the mysterious depths of the mind with The Cobweb, Lizzie, The Three Faces of Eve, and later in the 1960's with Psycho, Homicidal, Marnie, and Lilith. It's no wonder that this environment would influence a child who was raised during this period of post war disillusionment and preoccupation with the "why" of human behavior.
My short story, Mistaken Identity, is a result of the confluence of these two film and television genres. Visit me at paulalanfahey.com and let me know what you thought of it. By the way, it's free to the public.
